About

DRI - Diretoria de Relações Internacionais (International Relations Office) is a new sector of Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto – UFOP. It is responsible for supporting the internationalization process of the University. The International Mobility Program is one of the several activities carried out by DRI. It has been working hard to consolidate all the procedures related to the International Mobility Program along with other sectors of the University, such as PROGRAD (Undergraduate Courses Division), PROPP (Graduate Courses and Research Division), PROEX (Community-related Activities Division), and the Courses Council.

DRI develops and disseminates the mobility publication, selects the students, helps them prepare the necessary documents to travel abroad. Foreign students coming to Brazil receive the same assistance. Contacts with both local students and the Courses Council are encouraged by DRI. It also establishes contacts with international academic institutions and cooperation networks, establishes agreements with foreign universities and research centers, welcomes and supports foreign students and researchers, holds events related to internationalization, as well as other activities.

DRI’s staff is always ready to support you with the issues related to the International Mobility Program. “Ciência sem Fronteiras” (Science Without Borders) is currently one of its important programs. This is a Federal Government program founded in 2011 with the aim of encouraging Brazilian students to study abroad. It is an affirmative action coordinated by Ministério da Educação (Ministry of Education), whereas UFOP is only responsible for mediating the selection process and the mobility of the students. This Program has its own coordinator as well as a specialized staff to meet your demands.

DRI’s office is located at Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto - Campus Morro do Cruzeiro, Ouro Preto - Minas Gerais, Brazil.  Our phone number is +55 31 3559-1192. Here visitors will find mobility publications, exchange opportunities, and other information on internationalization.
