Moving on with the 2024 Cultural Calendar, the Welcome Project of the The International Relations Office (DRI) held two activities in July: Cine DRI and a visit to Inhotim Institute.
Students from different countries participated in this program, including Angola, Argentina, Cameroon, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mexico, Mozambique, the Republic of the Congo, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste.
The first activity held was a new session of Cine DRI. This time, the chosen film was Marte Um, which tells the story of a Black working-class family from Contagem, a city in the state of Minas Gerais. The film aimed to showcase a bit of daily life and bring cultural contrast. Before the movie, the Welcome Project members took the students on a visit to the Church of Our Lady of Conception and the House of Gonzaga.
The second activity was a visit to the Inhotim Institute. A total of 78 participants attended, including DRI members, UFOP staff, and international students associated with the GCUB-Mob program, undergraduate students in academic mobility at UFOP, as well as PEC-G students. The students had the opportunity to explore one of the largest open-air contemporary art museums and botanical gardens in the world. The itinerary was flexible, allowing each participant to explore what interested them most at the museum.
