The Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) in the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) is advancing its internationalization policy, focusing on academic cooperation with Latin America through the implementation of an Interinstitutional Doctoral Program (DInter) in partnership with the University of San Carlos of Guatemala (USAC). The initiative was approved under Capes Call No. 25/2024.
On September 22, 2025, the first cohort of the Program “Cooperation Projects between Institutions” for the implementation of doctoral classes (PCI/DINTER-CAPES) will be inaugurated at the Escuela de Formación de Profesores para la Enseñanza Media (EFPEM) in USAC. The initiative aims to train 12 PhDs in Education over a four-year period, from September 2025 to September 2029.
The opening of the program will feature a keynote lecture by Paula Cristina Cardoso Mendonça, Vice-Rector for Research, Graduate Studies and Innovation (PROPPI) in UFOP.
The DInter Program is coordinated by Professor José Rubens Lima Jardilino, vice-coordinator of the PPGE, and includes nine faculty members of the Program who will be responsible for training the first generation of Guatemalan PhD graduates through this partnership.
