Welcome Project holds Cine DRI and a visit to the Casa Guignard Museum

The Welcome Project of the International Relations Office (DRI) continues to carry out the activities of the 2024 Cultural Calendar, in order to promote interaction between UFOP's international students and the local community and culture.

In May, the Welcome team visited the Casa Guignard Museum, followed by a cinema session (Cine DRI). A total of 26 international students participated in the activity, from different countries of origin: Angola, Cameroon, Colombia, the United States, France, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, and São Tomé and Príncipe.

The activity aimed to promote a moment of socialization among foreigners through the audiovisual experience. Before the film screening, the students visited the Casa Guignard Museum, where they were able to learn about the history of painter Alberto Guignard, known for portraying Minas Gerais landscapes.

The film chosen for Cine DRI was "O Auto da Compadecida," an acclaimed classic of Brazilian drama, which represents the creative power of national cinema. The activity included a brief contextualization of the work and the author of the original play, Ariano Suassuna.
