The Welcome Project (UFOP’s International Relations Office) held another cultural event in September: a tour in the historic city of Ouro Preto. The event was attended by 19 students from different countries: Angola, Argentina, Cameroon, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Republic of the Congo, Russia, Timor-Leste, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Venezuela. The objective of the activity was to showcase the history of Ouro Preto.
The activity began with a picnic. Afterwards, the group visited Horto dos Contos, Pilar Church, São José Street, Casa da Ópera Theater, Carmo Church and the Museum of Oratory. The tour ended at Tiradentes Square with a visit to the new and much-discussed exhibition "Refundação" at the Museum of the Inconfidência.
