The UFOP Welcome Project was created in 2014 with the goal of supporting international students from all over the world. Since then, a dedicated team of student assistants has been working to assist the international public in adapting to and integrating into life in Brazil. The Welcome team is ready to help and make your arrival and stay in the country as enjoyable as possible.
The project offers support in two main areas:

Administrative and Bureaucratic Assistance
The Welcome team is available to guide students through the documentation required to stay in Brazil. Among the main activities, they help with obtaining the National Migratory Registration Card (CRNM), which is essential for those staying longer than three months. They also provide support with other processes, including: obtaining the Certificado de Pessoa Física (CPF); Applying for scholarship; opening a bank account; among others.

Cultural Activities
The Welcome Project’s mission goes beyond bureaucratic support. The project also aims to provide cultural experiences that help students build social connections and explore the rich culture of Minas Gerais State. The Welcome team organizes field trips to the region's main tourist attractions and hosts cultural events throughout the semester.
